See the risky terms before you sign
AI Lawyer is a Chrome extension that reads a contract clause by clause and marks what is dangerous, questionable, or fine. One document takes about 30 seconds.
High risk: 3 terms work against you
Analyzed for the Borrower side. Review the flagged clauses before signing.
1. The Lender transfers to the Borrower a loan of 1,500,000 RUB, and the Borrower undertakes to repay the said amount within the term set out in clause 5 of this Agreement.
2. Interest accrues at 18% per annum. The Lender may change the interest rate unilaterally, notifying the Borrower three calendar days in advance.
3. In case of late repayment the Borrower pays a penalty of 1% of the outstanding amount for each day of delay, with no upper limit.
4. The Lender may demand early repayment of the full amount at any time at its own discretion.
5. The loan term is 24 months from the date funds reach the Borrower's account.
Who AI Lawyer is for
Four steps, about thirty seconds
Nothing to configure. Upload the document, state which side you are on, read the analysis, and correct what you don't accept.
Upload the contract
PDF, DOCX, or a photo of a printed page. Scans are recognized automatically, up to 10 MB.
State your side
Client or contractor, tenant or landlord. The same clause is a risk for one party and a protection for the other.
Read the risk map
Clauses marked red, amber, and green, each with an explanation of what it means for you in practice.
Correct and download Pro
Write next to a risk how you want it changed, get the clause rewritten, and download the corrected document.
Any file, including scans and photos
The extension takes the contract in whatever form it reached you: an email attachment, an export from a document system, or a snapshot of a paper page. Text is recognized automatically and the clause structure is rebuilt.
- PDF, DOCX, JPG, PNG, TXT — up to 10 MB
- Recognition of scans and photographs
- Contract type detected automatically
Analysis from your side of the deal
A penalty clause protects one party and threatens the other. The extension detects the parties in the text and asks which one you are, then scores every clause for that side. Non-standard roles can be typed in: guarantor, subcontractor, assignee.
Which side are you on?
Risks are scored differently for the lender and the borrower.
Lender
You provide the loan: repayment, security, default.
Borrower
You receive the loan: penalties and one-sided terms.
Every clause scored and explained
The contract comes back marked up: dangerous clauses in red, questionable ones in amber, the rest in green. Each mark quotes your own text and explains what the clause means in practice, so any conclusion can be checked against the document.
- Overall risk score for the document
- Plain-language explanation of the consequences
- A quote from your text next to every mark
Penalty with no cap
1% per day without a ceiling exceeds the principal within six months.
Unilateral rate change
The rate can be raised on three days' notice, without your consent.
Early call at discretion
Repayment can be demanded at any moment, for any reason.
Type what you want changed, get the clause rewritten
Next to every flagged risk there is a field for your instruction: cap the penalty, make the rate fixed, add a notice period. The clause comes back rewritten in contract language, with the original kept alongside for comparison.
- One instruction per risk, in your own words
- Rewritten wording ready to send to the counterparty
- All accepted edits collected into one revised document
Penalty with no cap
1% per day without a ceiling exceeds the principal within six months.
“In case of late repayment the Borrower shall pay a penalty of 0.1% of the outstanding amount per day of delay, provided that the total penalty shall not exceed 10% of the loan amount. A penalty shall accrue only if the delay is not cured within five business days of written notice.”
Unilateral rate change
Edit the risk descriptions and the document itself
In the paid version every risk description is editable: adjust the wording, add your own note for a colleague, or discard a mark you disagree with. Corrections can be applied straight to the contract text and exported as a revised document or a table of disagreements.
- Edit or delete any risk description
- Apply the suggested wording to the clause
- Export the edited document or a DOCX report
Penalty with no cap
1% per day without a ceiling exceeds the principal within six months. Discussed with the client on 12 Aug: a 10% cap is acceptable to the lender.
The analysis opens as its own page
AI Lawyer starts from the extension icon and opens the document in a separate tab: the contract text on one side, the risks on the other. Nothing overlaps the page you were reading, and the tab can stay open while you discuss the contract with a colleague or the counterparty.
- Full-page view for long contracts
- A link to the analysis you can reopen later
- History of your previous documents in one list

Does this replace a lawyer?
No. The extension gives a first opinion: it finds the terms worth a closer look and explains their consequences. The decision to sign and the legal review stay with you and your lawyer.
Which contracts does it handle?
Loans and credit, lease, supply, works and services, employment, NDA, agency and licensing agreements. The type is detected from the text; non-standard documents are analyzed by the general logic of their terms.
How accurate is the analysis?
The analysis is produced by a language model: it can miss a clause or score one more strictly than needed. Every mark quotes your own text so the conclusion can be verified against the document.
What can I change in the paid version?
Risk descriptions can be edited, supplemented with your own notes, or removed. Suggested wording can be applied to the contract text, and the result exported as a revised document or a table of disagreements.
What about documents under NDA?
The text of your document is processed by Claude, an AI model from Anthropic, and is not used for training. Even so, do not upload documents you are not prepared to disclose to an AI service. For companies with strict requirements we offer processing in a closed environment — get in touch.

Install AI Lawyer for ChromeInformational analysis, not legal advice
AI Lawyer by REGLight performs automated informational analysis of the documents you upload. The result is generated by a language model, may be incomplete or wrong, does not constitute legal advice, does not create an attorney–client relationship, and is not a substitute for consulting a qualified lawyer in your jurisdiction. The decision to sign, refuse, or amend a document remains yours.
Uploaded files are processed to produce the analysis and deleted from our servers afterwards; documents are not used to train models. See the privacy policy for details.
